CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (WAVY) - A 19-year-old Nags Head man was found in western Virginia with a woman's body in the trunk of his car Friday night, according to police.Just before 4 p.m. police in Kitty Hawk, N.C. put out a nationwide bulletin for a man and a woman who went missing after police found a crime scene in Kitty Hawk.
Authorities were told to be on the lookout for 19-year-old Enrico Luciano Mascaro, from the Nags Head area, and 18-year-old Danielle Dennis-Towne of Steger, IL who were possibly traveling in a 1994 Ford Mustang with temporary 30-day license plates.
Police used cell phone towers to track Mascaro's car to Clifton Forge, Virginia which is about 50 miles south of Roanoke, Virginia.
The Clifton Forge police were notified that Mascaro's car was in the area and officers were dispatched to look for the car.
Around 8 p.m. Friday a Clifton Forge officer spotted the 1996 Mustang with nobody in it in a parking lot.
Clifton Forge police put the car under surveillance and when Mascaro returned to his car police took him into custody, according to Clifton Forge Police Chief Barry Balser.
When police searched the trunk of Mascaro's car they found the body of a white female.
Enrico Mascaro was taken to Allegheny County Jail and charged with being a fugitive from justice and with homicide in Kitty Hawk.
Mascaro is expected to be arraigned on Monday then extradited back to Kitty Hawk.
