Police are investigating after a 53-year-old Oswego woman was found dead in her room at Sybaris Pool Suites in Frankfort Friday morning.
Frankfort Police Cmdr. Kevin Keegan said police were called at 9:08 a.m. to the site at 7500 W. Lincoln Hwy. and confirmed the woman’s body was found in a pool. Sybaris bills itself as a romantic getaway, offering suites that feature private pools and whirlpools.
“I can’t say a whole lot about it because the matter is currently under investigation,” Keegan said.
Asked if the nature of the death appeared to be accidental or suspicious, Keegan said, “it’s very possible it could have been any one of those.”
Keegan said police are waiting for autopsy results from the Will County Coroner’s office.
Sybaris was open and honoring its reservations as of 3 p.m. Friday, said Chief Operating Officer Charlene Farrell.
She declined to give more details, citing the need to protect the privacy of customers.
“We want to wait and see how the police report reads,” she said. “We do keep privacy and do not want to release any information prior to the family knowing everything.”
