West Side detectives are investigating the disappearance of a 12-year-old girl last seen Sunday who may be with a man in south suburban Chicago Heights.Griselda Romero, 12, was last seen at 11 p.m. July 17 at her home in the 2700 block of West 24th Street, according to Harrison Area detective Paul Staudacher.
Her family believes she and a man named Adrian Quintero, age unknown, are staying together somewhere in Chicago Heights, the alert said.
Police believe the two may be together because they were seen talking at a concert on July 4 and Griselda used her mother’s cell phone to contact Quintero, who police assume has a residence in Chicago Heights, Staudacher said.
Investigators checked her mother’s phone records and found his number.
“We’ve notified Chicago Heights police and they’ve been helping us,’’ Staudacher said.
Griselda is described as a Hispanic girl, 5-foot-3 and 200 pounds with long, light brown hair.
She is not in need of any medication and remains missing as of 11 a.m. Friday, the detective said. It was not immediately known if she has gone missing before.
