A Chicago Police officer was injured this morning responding to a burglar alarm in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood on the West Side, authorities said.
The 48-year-old Monroe District officer was responding to a burglar alarm call in the 2300 block of West 21st Place when she injured her ankle about a little after 9 a.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.
The officer, who apparently was struck by a vehicle while she was outside her squad car, was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.
