A CHILLING replay or a tragic coincidence? The sudden disappearance of a stunning blonde on the haunted island of Aruba is raising the chilling specter of tragic Natalee Holloway. Robyn Gardner, 35, from Maryland vanished from the Caribbean island Aug. 2. Companion Gary Giordano said the stunning woman vanished while snorkeling. He was arrested trying to leave the country and is now being questioned. According to the New York Daily News, the twosome had been seeing each other for weeks after meeting through an online dating site. Reports say he bought tickets and invited her on the romantic holiday. They had been staying at the Renaissance Aruba
Resort & Casino.
But throwing a twist into the matter is Richard Forester, who says he is really her boyfriend: "I can't even explain it. It's been six days."
They had been dating for two years but had a big fight before she left for the Caribbean he said. He added: "The last message I got from her was, 'I love you, we'll talk and sort things out when I get back.'"
Friends said that she had recently lost her job as a dental assistant and went away to "clear her head." They said Giordano had hoped to become a serious boyfriend.
Robyn's disappearance is eerily similar to that of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in 2005. She disappeared from the same town. Her remains have never been found and the case is still unsolved--although Joran Van der Sloot has long been suspected as the killer. ROBYN GARDNER CASE EERILY SIMILAR TO NATALEE'S
